Stainless steel pans
Buy a stainless steel pan - a long-lasting all-rounder from Berndes
A steak seared to perfection or would you prefer braised vegetables? Whether meat, fish or something vegetarian - if you are looking for a particularly durable, robust and versatile pan, it may be worth buying a stainless steel pan.
The material steel
Steel is an alloy made of iron and carbon. If the proportion of carbon in the mass is less than 2%, it is called steel. If it is above that, it is cast iron. Steel can be easily formed and forged, cast iron has better casting properties.
Why should you buy a stainless steel pan?
Stainless steel is characterized by a very high degree of purity. Other and undesirable elements therefore only occur in stainless steel within narrowly defined tolerances. In addition, by consciously adding certain elements to stainless steel, you can positively influence its properties. The two most common additives are chromium and nickel. They mean that a stainless steel frying pan is significantly more corrosion-resistant and durable than comparable pans made of other materials. In addition, stainless steel does not give off any flavor to the food being fried due to its reduced reactivity.
What dishes is a stainless steel pan suitable for?
A stainless steel frying pan is traditionally used for searing steaks and larger pieces of meat. When prepared in a stainless steel pan, the meat becomes brown and crispy on the outside, but at the same time retains its tender juiciness on the inside. A stainless steel pan is also ideal for other fried foods such as eggs, fish, fried potatoes or hamburgers. Would you like to buy a stainless steel pan with which you can braise vegetables particularly well? Our Tricion Resist 28 cm casserole pan with glass lid is designed for exactly this purpose.
Why does a stainless steel pan have an aluminum core?
Since stainless steel alone does not have good thermal conductivity, a pan made of pure stainless steel would heat unevenly, very quickly in the middle of the hob and more slowly in the outer areas. By incorporating an aluminum core, optimal heat distribution within the stainless steel frying pan is ensured. This means that all areas of the pan heat up evenly and you get an optimal frying result.
Should a stainless steel pan be coated?
Using a stainless steel pan without a coating requires more experience. Due to the lack of coating, the food to be fried can quickly stick. Our stainless steel pans have a non-stick coating. This minimizes the risk of sticking as much as possible. For example, discover our Tricion Resist frying pan in sizes from 20cm to 32cm with a non-stick coating.
